The Rocking Chair Test

The next time you need to make a moderate size decision, maybe something that will impact your life (like a healthy lifestyle), try the Rocking Chair Test. What exactly is the Rocking Chair Test? Here it is...

You have a decision to make. Let's say you have 2 options: A - to exercise and create a healthy lifestyle or B - not to exercise and continue down the path you are currently heading. Now picture yourself much older, retired, and sitting on your porch sipping a cool beverage and rocking in your rocking chair. Look back at your life as if you decided to go with option B - not exercising, etc. What has your life looked like? Did you become overweight (or even more overweight)? Did you have health issues? Were you even able to make it to retirement and still be able to enjoy your life? Ask yourself these questions and other questions that may come up. Then look back at your life as if you chose option A - to exercise and create a healthy lifestyle. Once again ask yourself, what has your life looked like? Did you lose the weight you wanted to? Did you reduce the number of health issues? Were you able to enjoy an active lifestyle and enjoy your retirement to the fullest?

You can use the Rocking Chair Test for any decision you need to make that is worthwhile. It doesn't have to be fitness related. It could be a decision as to whether you get a puppy or not. It could be whether you change careers or not. Whatever decision you have in front of you that is important can go to the Rocking Chair. I put the Rocking Chair Test to use as to whether I should Blog about this. Guess what I decided? I decided that if this story helps just 1 person, then it was worth Blogging about.

Thank you for your time and your continued support of this Blog.
